<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drive a semiconductor laser so as to stably obtain a high power laser beam without needing a long waiting time. <P>SOLUTION: The method of driving a semiconductor laser executes the constant current control or the constant output control of semiconductor lasers LD1-LD7, using a constant current power source 305. The driving current value of the semiconductor lasers so as to obtain approximately the same optical power as a target optical power by the constant current control or the constant output control is previously defined in a pattern according to the lapsed time from the driving start, and the drive current of the GaN semiconductor lasers LD1-LD7 is changed stepwise according to the pattern in a specified period of time after starting driving the GaN semiconductor lasers LD1-LD7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
