<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protecting system protecting an occupant at the time of collision from a side part of a vehicle, having an excellent mounting property to the vehicle, and preventing erroneous judgement. <P>SOLUTION: The occupant protecting system comprises first to third sensors 20, 21, 23 detecting impact in a vehicular width direction, a judging means 1 having a judging device 11 judging collision on the basis of signals from each sensor 20, 21, 23, first communication paths B1, B2, B3 wherein the first sensor 23, the second sensor 21, and the judging means 1 are connected, and a second communication path wherein the third sensor 20 and the judging means 1 are connected and a detected signal of the third sensor 20 is transmitted to the judging means 1.
