SYSTEM FOR SIGNALING A DTMF AND A METHOD THE SAME

A system and a method for processing a DTMF signal are provided to transmit a DTMF signal tone through in-band or out-band signaling when voice communication between calling/called mobile stations is performed in a vocoder bypass mode, thereby improving speech quality during the voice communication between the calling/called mobile stations, and providing various services because a DTMF signal message can be transmitted during the voice communication. In a system for transmitting a DTMF(Dual Tone Multi Frequency) signal message transmitted from a mobile station(100) through in-band signaling, the DTMF signal processing system comprises a control station(300) and an exchange(410). When a vocoder is operated in a bypass mode, the control station(300) temporarily stops transmission of packet data if the control station(300) receives the DTMF signal message from a base station(200). The control station(300) substitutes the received DTMF signal message by a DTMF signal tone and transmits the DTMF signal tone. The exchange(410) transmits a transmission signal of the control station(300) to a receiving system.
