PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary surveillance radar response signal receiver and a secondary surveillance radar response signal receiving method capable of easily specifying the position of an aircraft. SOLUTION: The secondary surveillance radar response signal receiver comprises a three-dimensional position arithmetic section 43 that calculates the slant range to the aircraft based on the altitude and the angle of elevation when the response signal is received, and calculates ranges to the aircraft in the X-axis and Y-axis based on the slant range and azimuth when the response signal is received.
