PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can improve security.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus detects if position information is recorded in an IC tag by analyzing contents of the IC tag given to a read original (S203). When the answer is YES, the position information is acquired by referring to the contents of the IC tag. Thereafter, position information is acquired from a set GPS device (S205). It is distinguished whether the position information acquired from the original and the position information acquired from the set GPS device agree with each other (S207). Reading of the original is carried out only when the information agree with each other (S209).
