PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substituted biphenyloxazoline useful for combating animal pests. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the substituted biphenyloxazoline represented by formula (I), (in the formula, R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>together with the carbon atoms to which they are bonded form a halogen-substituted 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring, X is H or a halogen atom, a 1-6C alkyl or 1-6C alkoxy group, m is 0,1 or 2), and the invention relates to the method for producing the same and to a new intermediate product and the method for using the substituted biphenyloxazoline for combating animal pests.
