662,108. Internal fittings for boxes. SHANNON, LTD., and POSNER, B. B. July 5, 1949, No. 17768/49. Class 18. [Also in Group XV] In a frame fitting into a drawer and having side rails on which folders are suspended, a corner joint is formed between an end part of a rail 2 of channel section, having two holes 16, 17, spaced apart longitudinally, and a strip 19 which projects from and forms a slot 20 with a corner post 6, the strip 19 fitting into the channel of rail 2 and having a ,projection 21 and an outwardly directed hook 22 so that when the rail end 24 is engaged with the slot 20, the hook 22 engages the farther hole 17 and when the rail end 24 is pushed into the slot 20, the strip is distorted until the projection 21 enters the nearer hole 16. The projecting strip 19 is formed by bending the end of the cross-bar 4 of the frame which is welded to the corner post 6. The holes 16, 17, may form part of a series of holes, any two of which may be used, the end of the rail 2 being cut off as required. The corner posts 6 are cranked at 26 so that the width of the bottom of the frame is less than the distance between the rails 2. The slot 20 is narrowed inwardly to grip the rail 2. The corner post 6 is provided with a projection 28 above the rails 2 as a stop for the folders. Specifications 550,189, and 557,532 are referred to. |
