A borehole seismic acquisition system is described with a plurality of ceramic pressure sensors 901-904 arranged so as to registers pressure signals which can be identified as P-and S-wave related in further processing, the sensors being best arranged in groups or clusters sensitive to pressure gradients in one or more directions.
