A method and an apparatus for providing an IP(Information Provider) data-casting service in a digital audio broadcasting system are provided to perform an IP data-casting using a DAB system by supplying a transmission method to easily and efficiently understand IP packet configuration information. A method for providing an IP data-casting service in a digital audio broadcasting system includes the steps of: creating a service configuration information which indicates an IP data-casting service; creating an IP packet data by packetizing data to be transmitted; formatting configuration information of a packetized IP packet data to a certain protocol; and transmitting the service configuration information, the IP packet data, and the configuration information of a packetized IP packet data to a respective channel.
