A digital multimedia broadcasting system for alarming transmission of important broadcasting data and a method thereof are provided to inform a user that important DMB data are transmitted by his mobile communication terminal even when the user is not able to continuously watch DMB. A digital multimedia broadcasting system for alarming transmission of important broadcasting data includes a broadcasting center(100) having a controller(200) for inserting an alarm code to preset important DMB data and controlling a transmitting part(202) to transmit the DMB data to a satellite(120), as the DMB data is generated, wherein the alarm code informs a user that the transmitted DMB data is important. A mobile communication terminal(110) has a DMB controller(210) for alarming the user that the important DMB data is received according to alarm service setting, as the DMB data inserted with the alarm code is received.
