An apparatus and a method for tinting leather are provided to improve an existing tinting facility without requiring a special device for tinting leather, and to be able to tint leather easily at low cost and. The apparatus for tinting leather comprises a drive roller(10) for supplying leather to be tinted, a conveyor belt(20) for conveying the leather supplied from the drive roller(10), a printing unit(30) for performing a tinting operation on the conveyed leather, a drying unit(40) for drying the tinted leather, a rinsing unit(50), and a controller(60). Preferably, the printing unit(30) is located above the conveyer belt(20) because the printing unit(30) performs tinting by a screen printing method, starting from the top of leader to be tinted.
