Provided is an electrode assembly for a lithium secondary battery, which interrupts currents upon a rise in the internal temperature of a battery to inhibit a rise in the battery temperature, and thus improves the safety of a lithium secondary battery. The electrode assembly(110) for a lithium secondary battery comprises: a first electrode(113) including a first electrode current collector(113a) and a first electrode active material layer(113c) formed on the first electrode current collector(113a); a second electrode(115) including a second electrode current collector(115a) and a second electrode active material layer(115c) formed on the second electrode current collector(115a); and a separator(114) interposed therebetween. At least one electrode of the first electrode(113) and the second electrode(115) comprises a positive temperature coefficient(PTC) coating layer(113b,115b), wherein the PTC coating layer(113b,115b) is formed between the electrode current collector(113a,115a) and the electrode active material layer(113c,115c) of the first or second electrode(113,115). |
