METHOD ADJUSTING SOC FOR BATTERY AND BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM USING THE SAME

A method for compensating SOC(State Of Charging) of a battery and a battery management system using the same are provided to give an accurate SOC of the battery to an ECU of a vehicle by performing compensation of SOC of the battery by considering error components of the SOC calculated by an accumulation current method. In a method for compensating SOC(State Of Charging) of a battery used in a battery management system, a first SOC of the battery and a first voltage corresponding to the first SOC are calculated by using a charging/discharging current of the battery. A base voltage of the battery is calculated by using the charging/discharging current of the battery and a voltage of the battery and an internal resistance of the battery(S402). An accumulation error corresponding to the difference between the first voltage and the base voltage is calculated. It is judged whether the calculated accumulation error is within an effective range. If the accumulation error is out of the effective range, SOC compensation is performed by adding a compensation SOC to the first SOC.
