A dish washer and a method of reducing noise of the same are provided to preclude the noise from occurring by reducing the RPM of the motor if the motor is continually operated and the rotation of the cam is sensed. A method of reducing noise of a dish washer is composed of: a step of alternately operating upper and lower nozzles and driving the motor; a step(S101) of sensing whether or not the cam is rotated while the motor is driven; and a step of controlling the driving of the motor according to the rotary condition of the cam. The step of controlling the driving of the motor contains a step(S102) of controlling the RPM of the motor to be reduced if the cam is sensed to be rotated, and a step(S104) of increasing the RPM of the motor when the rotation of the cam is stopped.
