METHOD FOR ASSESSING STRUCTURE OF ARTICULAR CARTILAGE

The method for assessing the structure of the articular cartilage provides for the visualization of the contour of the bone head and the articular cartilage followed by the assessment of the state of the articular cartilage. The contour of the cartilage is visualized sonographically followed by the computed processing of the image obtained with the aid of the spatial densitometry technique plotting the spatial diagram of brightness distribution over the articular surface and in the specific section of the joint. The maximal values of the brightness and the state of the contours of the cartilage are recorded.
