The device has an obturator (7) adapting the shape of a crankcase (6) for sealing orifices susceptible to be affected by water, by rolling in an inundated zones during crossing a body of water. The obturator is formed as a stamping to be fixed by a clamping bolt (8) traversing holes provided in the obturator and is intercalated between a starter (3) and a clutch housing using the clamping bolt.
