The method for producing corrected images of the inside of water and sewage pipes (1 - 3) uses a camera (4) fitted with a fisheye lens to produce hemi- or fully spherical images at specific points in the pipe, from which perspective views which allow virtual rotation can be produced. The camera is fitted with a laser projector (5, 6) positioned on the axis (18) of the pipe and an optical recognition unit (7) which detects and evaluates the pattern it produces on the pipe wall. An independent claim is included for apparatus for carrying out the method.
