PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winding method and a winding device for a stator core that enable single equipment to execute winding work process. SOLUTION: The winding device 100 is provided with a holder 202 for holding the stator core 3, an index motor 203 for rotating the holder 202 by a prescribed angle, a winding nozzle 121, a winding nozzle driving part 120 for moving the winding nozzle 121 in the stator axial direction, and for oscillating the winding nozzle around the stator axis, a winding-former attaching/detaching and replacing part 140 for attaching/detaching a winding former 150 to/from the stator core 3, a winding arm driving part 160 for controlling the drive of winding arms 161-164, an inspection part 220 for inspecting the state of the formed coil 7, and an interphase insulator assembly part 260 for mounting an interphase insulator 261 to the coil 7. The winding-former attaching/detaching and replacing part 140, winding arm driving part 160, inspection part 220, and interphase insulator assembly part 260 are arranged, in turn so as to surround the vicinity of the holder 202.
