PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispatching facility equipped with a transfer device whereby a runner for transport with no self-travelling means is transferred from a main rail to a movable rail which can be connected with the main rail using a friction drive given externally. SOLUTION: The runner for transport of this dispatching facility is furnished over the whole length with a friction drive surface parallel with the moving direction, and the transfer device 21A is equipped with a friction drive wheel 24 installed on the movable rail 6 in line therewith and able to be in pressure contact with the friction drive surface, a friction drive wheel position changeover means 25 to change over the friction drive wheel 24 between the drive position in pressure contact with the friction drive surface and the off-drive position separate from the friction drive surface, and a friction drive wheel moving means 26 to reciprocate the friction drive wheel 24 between the retreat position R able to be in pressure contact with the friction drive surface of the runner supported on the movable rail 6 and the advanced position F able to be in pressure contact with the friction drive surface of the runner supported on the main rail 18a.
