PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL display device of which deterioration of display quality due to moisture or the like is reduced, and a manufacturing method of the same. SOLUTION: The organic EL display device is provided with an organic EL layer 9 arranged between an anode wiring 1 and a cathode wiring 3, and a water trapping layer 11 is arranged on the cathode wiring 3. The water trapping layer 11 is a thin layer of alkali earth metal or oxide thereof, which can be formed by a vacuum process like sputtering or evaporation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
