MESSENGER NOTIFICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD USING SYNCHRONIZATION SERVER

A messenger notification system using a sync server and a method thereof are provided to inform a user of an event generated in diverse services like a mail service and a blog service through a message while minimizing server load, and minimize a quantity of notification message packets by transmitting a notification message to only the users connected to the messenger. The sync server(104) receives state change information of the messenger users from a messenger system(106) and receives the notification message from at least one external service system(100,102). An online user database(110) stores information of the users connected to the messenger based on the state change information received from the sync server. In case that the notification message is received from the external service system, the sync server checks whether receivers of the notification message is an online state by using the information of the online user database and makes the notification message transferred to the user of the online state by transmitting the notification message to the messenger system if the user is the online state.
