PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level detector allowing high detection precision by raising/lowering a liquid level in a case suddenly in accordance with a sudden rise/drop in a liquid level when the container is refueled and by reducing fluctuations in the liquid level in the case when the liquid level fluctuates caused by a temporary tilting of the container. SOLUTION: The liquid level detector comprises the container containing liquid, a float 4 for liquid level detection, the case 3 including the float 4, and a liquid communication hole 3f allowing communication between the inside of the case 3 and the container containing the liquid.
