METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR BACK-UP OF BROADCAST FILE

A broadcasting file backup device and a method therefor are provided to back up broadcasting files packetized each other in a mass storage device by analyzing a meta data file having package information among broadcasting files stored in a digital broadcasting apparatus and detecting packetized broadcasting data file information. A receiving file information analyzing unit(220) analyzes package information included in a meta data file received from a digital broadcasting apparatus, and extracts storage position information or file name information about a broadcasting data file. A file requesting unit(230) transmits a corresponding broadcasting data file request message to the digital broadcasting apparatus on the basis of the storage position information or the file name information. A storing unit(250) stores the broadcasting data file received from the digital broadcasting receiving apparatus according to the broadcasting data file request message and the previously received meta data file.
