A method for automatically setting audio volume is provided to detect the audio volume of a received broadcasting signal, automatically adjust the audio volume to have a predetermined level, and output the adjusted audio volume. A tuner(10) tunes a selected broadcasting channel. A volume detecting unit(40) detects the audio volume of a broadcasting signal received according to the tuning of the broadcasting channel. A microcomputer(50) compares the detected audio volume with predetermined audio volume. The microcomputer adjusts the audio volume of the received broadcasting signal from the compared result.
