A method of producing Dim Sum by using a sweet potato as main ingredient in making an outer cover and filling is provided. The method prevents the loss of nutrients, masks the strong flavor of sweet potato and increases storage properties of Dim Sum. In manufacturing Dim Sum, a sweet potato is used as main ingredient to make an outer cover and filling; and the outer cover is filled with the filling. The outer cover is prepared by mixing 85 to 98% by weight of sweet potato starch, 0.5 to 1% by weight of salt, 1 to 10% by weight of fruit or vegetable juice such as leeks, pumpkins and the like, 0.5 to 4% by weight of edible oil or butter and kneading with boiling water. The filling is prepared by mixing 92 to 97% by weight of a steamed sweet potato, 2 to 5% by weight of sweeteners such as corn syrup, honey, sugar and the like, 0.5 to 2% by weight of fats and oils and 0.5 to 1% by weight of other spices and heating.
