A power amplification control apparatus of a mobile communication terminal is provided to add a separate circuit which adjusts the gain of a PA(Power Amplifier) if output power of the PA is detected at more than a predetermined level, thereby decreasing the load of an MSM(Mobile Station Modem). An HDET(High power Detection) unit(210) detects the output power of a PA(240), and converts the detected power into a DC(Direct Current) voltage. An MSM(220) adjusts SBI data according to the DC voltage, and inputs the adjusted data to an RF(Radio Frequency) processor(260). A gain controller(230) controls gain of the PA(240) if the DC voltage becomes at more than a predetermined level.
