A display control device of portable electronic equipment and a method thereof are provided to mount an inertial sensor on the portable electronic equipment to sense each movement of the electronic equipment, thereby controlling a pointer located on a display of the equipment as setting a menu indicated by the pointer. A sensor unit(130) senses spatial movement of a portable electronic equipment. A memory unit(120) stores data related to a spatial reference angle of equipment in order to set a reference right position in a space of the equipment. A controller(150) is applied with a signal sensed from the sensor unit(130) by hand-handling of the equipment based on the spatial reference angle, and changes a position of a pointer located on a display(140), then selects a predetermined menu indicated by the pointer.
