A backlight unit and an LCD using the same are provided to prevent a gap from generating between a light guiding plate and a reflective plate, thereby suppressing the bright line and improving the picture quality. A light guiding plate(106) is formed at one side of at least one lamp(120). A lamp housing(118) partially wraps the lamp and overlaps a portion of the light guiding plate. The lamp housing has an embossed region disposed in a space between the lamp and the light guiding plate. A reflective plate(104) is disposed below the light guiding plate. At least one end of the reflective plate covers a portion of the lamp housing. The reflective plate inclines to the light guiding plate. |
