The rim has an external body (8) having a case formed by a lower bridge (10), an upper bridge (11), two lateral walls (12, 13) and defining a median plane. The lower bridge has a button hole-shaped housing (15) to which spokes (4) are attached and a wall situated inside of the case, where the wall includes a hollow groove (24) having a depth comprised between 0.9 to 1.5 millimeters. The spoke includes a retention head having a cup shaped lower surface. The housing has narrow and broad zones, where the narrow zone emerges in the groove and the broad zone emerges outside of the groove. An independent claim is also included for a wheel comprising a rim and a central hub.
