The invention relates to an angular and incremental position sensor to be used both in measuring stands in laboratories and in industrial installations. According to the invention, the sensor works on the principle of magnetostrictive delay lines and consists of a magnetostrictive delay line (1) comprising an amorphous magnetostrictive tape, two parallelly connected copper wires (3 and 4), supplied with current pulses for exciting the magnetostrictive delay line, an active core (5) and a reception coil (2) located at the end of magnetostrictive delay line. The sensor allows to determine the absolute and incremental angular position af an active core (5) comprising an amorphous magnetostrictive tape, rotating about the axis (y) of a cartesian coordinate system whose origin is located in the point (P) where the excitation wires overlap the magnetostricitve delay line and which is located at the distance (a) relative to the axis (X) of said system. The sinusoidal response of this sensor allows the accurate determination of absolute and incremental angular position of the active core.
|
