PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display element driving circuit capable of transferring a serial data signal and an output control signal thereto from an image information transmission part without necessity for a signal line to supply an output control signal thereto. SOLUTION: The display element driving circuit includes a 1st register 10, a 2nd register 20, an output driving circuit 30, a 3rd register 60, a 4th register 70, a control data capture control circuit 80, and a display data capture control circuit 40. Further, a counter 82 is built in the control data capture control circuit. In the control data capture control circuit, a control data capture enable signal cd-en is set to a level H while an input load signal LD is at the level H, the content of a counter to count the number of clocks of a clock signal CK is reset. After the load signal becomes a level L and when the counter has counted the specified number of clocks of the clock signal CK and thereafter, an enable input signal EI is made to reach the level H, and thereby, serial data signals DI thereafter are captured in the 1st register, and this captured data are utilized as an image display data.
