PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component teaching data creating method of easily creating component teaching data indicating height of a component. SOLUTION: The method of easily creating the component teaching data indicating the height of the component comprises: a component illumination step S100 of lighting a periphery including the component with an illumination tool 171d; a component image creating step S102 of creating a color image of the component including a background by imaging the component lighted by the illumination tool 171d so that the whole surface of a cover sheet 173 becomes the background; a dimension specifying step S106 of specifying the height of the component according to a blue concentration value of the background of the color image; and a data creating step S110 of creating the component teaching data indicating the height specified by the dimension specifying step S106.
