A light source, and a backlight assembly and a display device having the same are provided to improve the uniformity of brightness, by forming a groove for scattering a light on a surface of a light source body. A light source(200) includes a light source body(210). At least one groove(230) is formed in an outer surface of the light source body. The groove is formed along a longitudinal direction of the light source body. The groove has a triangle-shaped longitudinal section. The groove is formed in a range of a predetermined angel on the center of the light source body. The predetermined angle has a range from 60 to 180 degrees.
