A refrigerator in which a cutout is provided at a portion corresponding to a machine room of an outer box, a resin-made outer shell of the machine room is engaged with the cutout, and a compressor, a condenser, a fan for forced cooling, etc. are placed on the outer shell. Because a machine room portion for receiving the compressors etc. and having an irregular complex shape can be integrally formed by resin molding separately from other portions, workability is improved and assembly accuracy is increased. Further, since the resin-made outer shell of the machine room of the different material from the outer box, which is made of steel plate, are joined, transmission of noise and vibration of the compressor and the fan to a refrigerator body is suppressed.
