PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix drive type liquid crystal display panel whose optical characteristics are improved. SOLUTION: Variation in charge storage amount of a charge storage capacitor in a pixel is adjusted to restore an applied voltage to a liquid crystal element which drops after a gate line signal passes. The charge amount can be adjusted by connecting a common line to a common electrode side of the charge storage capacitor by using two switching elements. One switching element operates in response to a gate line signal and the applied voltage is equal to a common line voltage; and the other switching element operates in response to a next gate line signal and to supplies a deficiency of the charge storage amount which has decreased temporarily by using a next common line voltage. In a translucent liquid crystal display panel or color liquid crystal display panel, charge storage amounts are similarly adjusted by pixel measure. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
