PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide wood wool which can increase the flexural rigidity of a board in the board thickness direction without increasing the thickness of the board in the board thickness direction, a plane for cutting the wood wool, and an apparatus for producing the wood wool. SOLUTION: In the plane blade 12 for cutting the wood wool which is arranged/formed to make a rake face 14 and a flank 15 intersect at a prescribed angle, a plurality of blade parts 16 and a plurality of non-blade parts 17 are formed alternately in the extension direction of the edge of the blade, the blade parts 16 are formed by the intersection between a protrusion 18 extending perpendicularly to the extension direction of the edge of the blade formed in the rake face 14 and the plane-shaped flank 15, the protrusion 18 is formed to make a cross section viewed in the direction perpendicular to the extension direction of the edge of the blade be formed in the shape of a crest, and its apex extends in the direction perpendicular to the extension direction of the edge of the blade.
