A power supply unit comprising a surge protection function is provided to control a surge-interrupted voltage to be a voltage set by a user, by blocking surge in the voltage from a power supply port. A surge filter part(100) blocks a surge from a voltage inputted from a power supply port. A control part(120a) outputs a control signal controlling the surge-interrupted voltage to be a voltage set by a user. An automatic voltage control part(120b) controls a voltage by being switched according to the control signal. The control part outputs the control signal by a pulse width modulation method. A display part(140) displays the state of each component.
