<p>An image forming apparatus is provided to make the interval of first side plates identical approximately equal to a casing length of process cartridges, make the interval of second side plates have a shorter length than the casing length of process cartridges, and make the interval of second side plates have a shorter length than an axis direction length of a photo sensitive drum installed in the process cartridges, thereby contributing to apparatus miniaturization by removing a dead space and reducing the total width of the apparatus if possible. An image forming apparatus(10) comprises the followings: a pair of first side plates(70A) which are installed on the main body of the apparatus(12), wherein process cartridges are mounted between its own plates(70A); a pair of second side plates(70B) which are arranged at a narrower interval than the first side plates(70A), wherein other apparatuses(34,35), arranged on the main body of the apparatus(12), are mounted between its own plates(70B); and an ESA(Electronic Sub Assembly)(60)which is arranged in the outside of the second side plates(70B).</p> |
