PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defective sector managing method with which performance of a disk processing apparatus is not reduced owing to processing for a defective sector and which is suitable for sequential access. SOLUTION: When a host performs sequential write for a disk device, switching from slip processing to skip processing is performed. It is examined in a step 1010 whether a sector is a defective sector registered in a GLIST or not. When it is the defective sector, the sector is skipped and the next sector is sought in a step 1011, the defective sector is registered again to a PLIST from the GLIST in a step 1012, information of the defective sector is deleted from an address conversion table in a step 1013, a defective sector management table is updated in a step 1014, and data are recorded in the sector in the step 1012.
