<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system with combined analog gray scale and digital gray scale systems. <P>SOLUTION: An analog/digital switching circuit outputs a video signal to a pixel array, as it is, when the video signal has analog value and to a circuit which performs digital operation, such as a latch circuit, when the video signal has digital value. Consequently, display can be carried out, while the analog gray scale system and digital gray scale system are switched.
