<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video decoding device which is capable of restraining the video images decoded from bit streams from deteriorating in image quality by subjecting repeat fields contained in the bit streams preferentially to interleave processing. <P>SOLUTION: The video decoding device is equipped with a decoding unit 20 which calculates the number of display fields excluding the repeat fields from the bit streams created by frame conversion and decodes the bit streams, and a display image selecting unit 40 which selects display images excluding the repeat fields from the images obtained by a decoding process and outputs the selected display images as image signals. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
