A high-pressure discharge lamp comprises a filling comprising at least a noble ignition gas, mercury, a halogen, and zinc, with additional niobium and titanium halides. Preferably the total metal halide concentration is between 0.6 and 12 micromoles per milliliter and the halogen is iodine and/or bromine.
