PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus for presenting information by which objective information can be retrieved efficiently. SOLUTION: A scanner device performs a tree display of a box by holding an ID which specifies the box and an ID of a "parent" box directly above the box about the box to memorize and managing information (PARENT) showing the position on the tree. Further, the document stored in the specified box is selectively presented, and the documents stored in all the parent boxes are selectably presented as shared documents by following in order the parent box of the box.
