PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose an original guarantee apparatus capable of properly protecting the contents provided on a sheet of paper. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with an image pickup means for picking up a unique pattern provided on the paper having the predetermined contents, a first extracting means for extracting the feature of a pattern image picked up by the image pickup means, a second extracting means for extracting the feature from the pattern image in more detail than the first feature extracted by the first extracting means, a storage means for storing the first feature on the paper, and a registering means for registering the second feature extracted by the second extracting means into a predetermined storing means.
