The device has a locking unit at two components (1, 2) e.g. radio and instrument panel. The component (2) is held at its edge facing the component (1) under the pre-stressing at the opening edge of the component (1). A spring unit determines the mounting position of the component (2) in the component (1). The locking unit locks with reference to a level, in which the component (2) is inserted into the opening of the component (1).
