<p>A method for automatically connecting to a local area network in a mobile communication terminal is provided to enable the mobile communication terminal to automatically recognize a local area communication zone and connect to an access point by local area communication when the mobile terminal approaches a local area communication zone of the access point providing a predetermined service, thereby enabling a user to receive the predetermined service, which the access point provides, through the mobile communication terminal. A method for automatically connecting to a local area network in a mobile communication terminal comprises the following steps of: enabling a module for local area communication installed in the mobile communication terminal to attempt connection to an access point by local area communication; storing longitude and latitude coordinates of a base station, which the mobile communication terminal obtains during the communication with the base station at a current location, in a location information storage part as location information of the connection device; comparing the longitude and latitude coordinates of the base station with the location information of the access point in case of an automatic connection mode and extracting substitute access points to be connected by the local area communication(704); and connecting to the extracted substitute access points by the local area communication(718).</p> |
