A scanning device is provided to use two wires with close and open loops and to simplify a wire route, thereby enhancing the assembly characteristic of the wire. The first wire(71) has a closed loop shape and is supported by the first two pulleys(81,82) positioned at the fixed positions. The first carriage(100) is connected by the first wire. The second two pulleys(91,92) are installed at the second carriage(200). The second wire has an open loop shape and is supported by the second pulleys. Both ends of the second wire are fixed to a scanning apparatus body(600). The second pulleys are movable pulleys. The second wire is connected with the first carriage between the second pulleys.
