PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing hard to heat and superior in impression resistance even when used with high speed rotation. SOLUTION: An angular ball bearing comprises an inner ring 1 having a raceway surface 1a on the outer peripheral face, an outer ring 2 having a raceway surface 2a on the inner peripheral face, and a plurality of rolling elements 3 rollingly arranged between both raceway surfaces 1a, 2a. It is used for rotatably supporting the spindle of a machine tool. The inner ring 1 and the outer ring 2 are formed of bearing steel and their raceway surfaces 1a, 2a each have a hardened layer formed with a surface hardness of Hv900-Hv1500 by surface hardening treatment.
