<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data communication apparatus and an electronic apparatus that can be downsized. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting diode 11 of the data communication apparatus outputs light when the diode 11 is energized. A transmission circuit 13 applies a forward bias to the light emitting diode 11 on the basis of transmission data.
