A method and a device for managing history in an image forming device equipped with a remote control function are provided to manage the history by enabling an external device to connect, control, and diagnose the image forming device, and store the history to a storing part. An interface(100) is connected to the external device for controlling the image forming device. The storing part(110) stores control history of the image forming device by the external device. A controller(130) makes the control history stored to the storing part. A display part(120) displays the control history. If the external device is connected to the image forming device through the interface, the controller informs a user of reception of a control request from the external device through the display part. The control history includes performance date, an access method, performed particulars, accessed data, a connection method, and an access address.
